Abstract

Based on the assessment of recreational resources of the Islands of the archipelago of the Empress Eugenie (Russkiy, Popova, Reineke, Rikorda, Shkota and a number of smaller islets and rocks) of the Peter the Great Bay (Sea of Japan) assesses the prospects for environmental management of the island territories of the Peter the Great Bay where it occupies a special place recreation,  ecotourism and nature tourism.  The unique nature of the Islands  makes them attractive objects of tourism, but also requires respect for nature, especially vulnerable island vegetation, which is possible only in the conditions of organized tourism, strict control of visitors to the island territories. The Central object of recreation of the archipelago of Empress Eugenia is The Russian island with many bays, massively visited by citizens. For the APEC summit on the island were created facilities for recreation and entertainment (Oceanarium,
University embankment, recreation centers) have become available to many transport facilities. The most promising for the development of protected, ecological and natural tourism is the Popov island whose recreational potential is determined by the presence of attractive sandy bays for a beach holiday, the beauty of the banks overgrown with white rosehip Maksimovich and the presence of tourist sites. On the part of the island, which is part of the far Eastern marine state nature reserve, there are ecological trails, the Museum "Nature of the sea and its protection" and the only center of environmental education in the Russian Far East operating on the basis of the marine hospital of the reserve. The peculiarity of tourism on the Popov island is its relative accessibility, proximity to The Russian island, connected to the mainland of Vladivostok by a bridge. Visitors have the opportunity to see the characteris tic natural complexes in their natural state, without leaving the city district. Another attractive area for natural tourism is traditionally the Reyneke island. The disadvantage of using its resources is poor transport accessibility and lack of tourist infrastructure. Some of the objects
of the archipelago is available only for inspection by sea tourists without access to the Islands.
